Busy Morning Duo to Tour Vermont Libraries Summer 2024
The Busy Morning Duo (musicians Linda Bassick and Greg Rothwell) are pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of their debut children’s book, Squirrel in a Tree: A Maple’s Busy Morning Adventure. Squirrel in a Tree is based on a song from the Busy Morning Band’s original album “Maple’s Busy Morning” and features gorgeous illustration by artist Jackson Tupper.
Come along on one of Maple's adventures as you enjoy this brand-new children’s picture book! Preschooler Maple isn’t ready to go home when it’s time to leave, so their parent asks them to pretend to be different animals as they make their way home for lunch. Kids will love to sing, hop, and fly along while listening. You may preorder from Phoenix Books in Burlington, Essex, or Rutland beginning June 16th for July 16th publication.
The Busy Morning Duo will hit the road to share Squirrel in a Tree with Vermont libraries this summer. The Busy Morning Duo is available for performances in July and August 2024 to coincide with Adventure Begins at Your Library summer programming. Musician Linda Bassick, a beloved staple of the preschool music scene at libraries including Fletcher Free (Burlington) and Brownell (Essex), and bandmate Greg Rothwell will delight and engage families with an interactive sing-along and reading. Our one-hour event includes a 30-minute concert, book reading, and meet-and-greet with our instruments for book-signing and photos.

About Linda Bassick:
Linda Bassick is a longtime early educator, musician, former member of Steady Betty and current member of the sixties tribute band, Mellow Yellow. Linda hosts weekly sing-alongs in Chittenden County and has been singing and working with young children since the 1980’s. The Busy Morning Duo is Linda supported by Greg Rothwell of the Discussions.
The Busy Morning Duo will play a set of their family friendly and lively tunes along with other family favorites.
